I’m Heather Curtis-Tenney, the proud owner of Curtis Quality Care, LLC. I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.

From the time I was a child, I have always liked helping people. I began my career as a caregiver at home, caring for my siblings and ill parents. With a desire to assist other families in coping with the psychological, emotional, and physical difficulties of the aging process, I went on to become a licensed nursing assistant. I also got my degree in behavioral science specializing in geriatric care management and established Curtis Quality Care, LLC in November 2009, in memory of my loving parents. I am also a certified Alzheimer’s and dementia-related disorders trainer and support group leader.

When I first began this field, I was the only state-licensed home care service provider in our area. I eventually had four office workers and thirty care providers. Now we serve over two hundred families. While competition has increased, we work together to serve as many clients as possible and give choices to our community.

The part of my day-to-day business that I love the most is interacting with clients and families. Most of the relationships I have with my clients last for generations as they know I genuinely care about them and their loved ones. My philosophy is quality over quantity, and I believe if you cannot find moments of enjoyment, love, laughter. What is the point of existing?

As an individual, I believe what sets me apart is my honesty, appreciation, giving nature, and desire to mentor. I genuinely love mentoring my employees and family caregivers, knowing that I am giving people the tools to succeed and change our little area of the world.

I attribute my success to my extraordinary employees and fantastic staff. They are all dedicated, giving, intelligent, and overall great people and citizens of tomorrow. Especially our caregivers, their compassion and hard work are what keep us going.

Receiving the 2016 NH Women-Owned Small Business Award was a moment of pride for me and an event that has given me immense satisfaction over the years.

When I am not at work, I have a few different hobbies that keep me busy and out of trouble. I own a blueberry farm with a two-hundred-year-old house on which my husband, children, and I are constantly doing maintenance, refurbishment, and repairs. I also love spending time outdoors with my dogs.

Additionally, I believe in giving back to society. As part of that belief, I am a death doula and am continuing my education to find creative ways to help people cope with difficult situations. I also contribute to the Alzheimer’s Association.

I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.

If you or someone you know could benefit from our expertise with in-home healthcare, I invite you to get in touch. We are a small, fully insured, and licensed home care service provider.
